WARNER TV CEMENTS #1 POSITION AND ADDS SEVENTH SAME-DAY DRAMA TO LINE-UP

Warner TV, the No. 1 rating general entertainment channel in both Singapore and Mega Manila, has added another express drama, Batwoman, to its unparalleled mix of first-run and exclusive programming.

SINGAPORE (November 6, 2019) – Warner TV, the No. 1 rating general entertainment channel in both Singapore and Mega Manila, has added another express drama, new blockbuster movies – and a cast of leading ladies – to its unparalleled mix of first-run and exclusive programming.

The exclusive Asia debut of Batwoman and the timeslot-winning premiere of Wonder Woman marked the launch of Warner TV’s new campaign “Fearless Femmes”. Batwoman arrived on screens in the Philippines and Singapore as the latest same-day series on the channel – sitting alongside six other express titles: Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Blindspot, Supergirl, Young Sheldon and The Flash.

Marianne Lee, Vice President of General Entertainment Content at WarnerMedia Entertainment Networks, Asia Pacific, said: “Warner TV is the premier destination in Southeast Asia for so many first-run Warner Bros. series, particularly the DC catalogue. Warner TV is the ‘home of the superfan’ and we’d like to thank our loyal viewers for tuning in to share in all the action and adventure.”

Warner TV is the No. 1 English GE channel among young adults 25-44 in Mega Manila in Q3, where Impractical Jokers, The Dunk King and Storage Hunters are also standout performers. In Singapore, Warner TV has been No.1 among young adults for 12 consecutive months since October 2018. There, The Flash S5 has ranked No. 1 among English GE channels in its primetime slot among males 25-44 in Q3, but other favourites include comedies The Carbonaro Effect, Friends and The Big Bang Theory.*

“Fearless Femmes” also includes crossover episodes from the famed Arrowverse. These include the Elsewords specials, which introduce Batwoman and Lois Lane, and features legendary female characters such as Killer Frost, Supergirl, Black Canary and White Canary.

It’s a case of ladies first… and men second. In November, Warner TV celebrates International Men’s Month with a campaign called “Hunky-Dory” boasting a heap of weekend movies. The premiere of King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (November 30) will lead the charge alongside Batman and Superman, Tarzan and Kong: Skull Island.

Off the channel, Warner TV recently hosted 6,000 fans at the Superfans Arena in Malaysia, and the annual Warner TV Pop Expo also returns to Manila on November 17. It’s the most awesomely geeky fan-fest in the Philippines so keep an eye on Facebook.com/WTVPopExpo for more details.

More about BATWOMAN (13x1hr)

Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, primed to snuff out the failing city's criminal resurgence. Based on the characters from DC, BATWOMAN stars Ruby Rose (Orange Is the New Black), Rachel Skarsten (Reign, Birds of Prey, Imposters), Meagan Tandy (Survivor's Remorse, Teen Wolf), Nicole Kang (You, The Code, Swallow), Camrus Johnson (The Sun Is Also a Star, Luke Cage), Elizabeth Anweis (9-1-1, The Affair) and Dougray Scott (Mission: Impossible).

Kate Kane (Rose) never planned to be Gotham's new vigilante. Three years after Batman mysteriously disappeared, Gotham is a city in despair. Without the Caped Crusader, the Gotham City Police Department was overrun and outgunned by criminal gangs. Enter Jacob Kane (Scott) and his military-grade Crows Private Security, which now protects the city with omnipresent firepower and militia. Years before, Jacob's first wife and daughter were killed in the crossfire of Gotham crime. He sent his only surviving daughter, Kate Kane, away from Gotham for her safety. After a dishonourable discharge from military school and years of brutal survival training, Kate returns home when the Alice in Wonderland gang targets her father and his security firm, by kidnapping his best Crow officer Sophie Moore (Tandy).

Although remarried to wealthy socialite Catherine Hamilton-Kane (Anweis), who bankrolls the Crows, Jacob is still struggling with the family he lost, while keeping Kate – the daughter he still has – at a distance. But Kate is a woman who's done asking for permission. In order to help her family and her city, she'll have to become the one thing her father loathes – a dark knight vigilante.

With the help of her compassionate stepsister, Mary (Kang), and the crafty Luke Fox (Johnson), the son of Wayne Enterprises' tech guru Lucius Fox, Kate Kane continues the legacy of her missing cousin, Bruce Wayne, as Batwoman. Still holding a flame for her ex-girlfriend, Sophie, Kate uses everything in her power to combat the dark machinations of the psychotic Alice (Skarsten), who's always somewhere slipping between sane and insane. Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate soars through the shadowed streets of Gotham as Batwoman. But don't call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a saviour, she must first overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham's symbol of hope.
