Two-Time NBA MVP to Assume Expanded Contributions Including Standalone Feature Segments Tied to Unmatched Passion for Two of the World’s Most Popular Sports Leagues

Steve Nash, a two-time Kia NBA MVP, will be expanding his role with Turner Sports, joining NBA on TNT as a contributor and evolving his season-long presence on B/R Football’s UEFA Champions League coverage.

As part of his new NBA on TNT responsibilities, Nash will appear within the network’s Tuesday night coverage, providing standalone studio segments encompassing off-the-court features, player profiles and more.  The eight-time NBA All-Star will also make appearances at select NBA on TNT marquee events.

Nash’s UEFA Champions League presence will build on his unbridled passion for the game. The lifelong soccer fan will be featured in live and taped appearances throughout the UEFA Champions League season. The original content packages will range from him interacting with a variety of special guests outside the studio setting, as well as B/R Football commentators.

“I really enjoyed my first year with Turner Sports and B/R Football,” said Nash. “Now, adding the NBA on TNT feels like a natural evolution, and I’m excited to dive deeper into storytelling across both these two hugely popular global sports.”

“Steve Nash has proven to be a talented and charismatic contributor on and off the set,” said Craig Barry, Chief Content Officer, Turner Sports. “His ability to connect with players and fans in an organic setting has been extremely additive to our coverage. This expanded role will provide additional ways for us to capture more of those moments and showcase his unique abilities.”

“We’re equally thrilled to broaden Steve’s visibility throughout our NBA portfolio with integrations during our NBA on TNT Tuesday night coverage and appearances at other tentpole events.”

Some of Nash’s feature segment highlights from last year’s UEFA Champions League coverage include:

As part of the agreement, Nash’s CTRL media production company will contribute to the soccer-related content.

Nash was named to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018 after spending 18 seasons in the NBA, playing for the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers. He currently serves as a player development consultant with the Golden State Warriors and won a championship with the organization in 2017. Additionally, he serves as General Manager of Canada Basketball’s Men’s National Team.

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Nash possesses a lifelong connection to international soccer and is a passionate Tottenham Hotspur supporter. Growing up, his father and siblings all played soccer competitively in South Africa, while his mother starred at netball. Nash is also a stakeholder in Real Mallorca, which was recently promoted to Spain’s prestigious top level, La Liga.
