truTV’s New Investigative Comedy Series Adam Ruins Everything Gives You Everything You Didn’t Want To Need To Know

In truTV’s new series Adam Ruins Everything, host Adam Conover employs a combination of comedy, history and science to dispel widespread misconceptions about everything we take for granted. A perfect blend of entertainment and enlightenment, Adam Ruins Everything is inviting, fast-paced and, above all, smart. Adam is like that friend who knows a little bit too much about everything and is going to tell you about it...whether you like it or not. Adam Ruins Everything isn't just fun to watch, but addictively informative. It's everything you didn't want to need to know. Produced by Big Breakfast, the show was born out of a popular CollegeHumor original series that has generated more than 30 million views since premiering online with the video "Why Engagement Rings Are a Scam" in early 2014. Adam Ruins Everything is set to premiere on Tuesday, September 29th at 10:00pm ET/PT.

Each episode will have Adam taking on a new theme, ruining various topics for viewers, including Security, Cars, Restaurants, Crime Scene Investigations, Bathrooms, Elections, Childhood, Sex, Nutrition, Work, and Death.
In the series premiere episode, Adam tackles the theme of Giving, covering the secret history of diamond engagement rings, exposes why shoe companies that give away free footwear do more harm than good, and explains why you should stop giving food pantries your leftover canned goods.

Adam Conover joined CollegeHumor in 2012 as a staff writer and cast member of CollegeHumor Originals. In addition to writing CollegeHumor Originals such as “Mitt Romney Style,” he has appeared in videos for the site’s Hardly Working series. Prior to joining CollegeHumor, he was an instructor and performer at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in NYC. Conover is a standup comedian who performs nightly around Los Angeles, and hosts his weekly comedy show, Fresh Out, at UCB Sunset.  He graduated from Bard University with a degree in philosophy and currently lives Los Angeles.

truTV has ordered 12 half-hour episodes of Adam Ruins Everything from Big Breakfast. The show is executive produced by Jon Cohen, Spencer Griffin, and Sam Reich.
