NBA Icon Dwyane Wade Joins WarnerMedia in Wide-Ranging Deal

Multi-Faceted Agreement Includes NBA & NCAA Commentary for Turner Sports, Creative Director Role for Bleacher Report & Development Deal with WarnerMedia

NBA legend Dwyane Wade – a three-time NBA Champion, NBA Finals MVP and 13-time NBA All-Star – has reached a comprehensive, multi-year agreement with WarnerMedia that will include a variety of projects across the media company’s entire portfolio. Wade’s contributions will cross-over a number of areas including sports, lifestyle and entertainment.

As part of his Turner Sports role, Wade will be a basketball commentator, making appearances at TNT’s tent pole NBA events and as a regular analyst for the network’s Tuesday night studio coverage, appearing alongside analysts Shaquille O’Neal and Candace Parker.  Wade will also make studio appearances at the NCAA Final Four and National Championship, as part of Turner Sports and CBS Sports’ combined coverage of the event.

In addition to his role as an on-air commentator, Wade will contribute as creative director on a number of special projects for Bleacher Report, the leading sports destination for millennial and Gen Z sports fans.  Wade and B/R will explore new and unique ways to further advance the connection between sports and culture to generate custom content experiences that resonate with young, passionate fans.

Wade and his 59th & Prairie Entertainment production company have also reached a development deal with WarnerMedia and will be creating a number of projects over the length of the agreement.  Additional details on these projects will be announced at a later date.

“I’m thrilled and grateful to be joining the WarnerMedia family with many exciting opportunities ahead,” said Wade. “I have great respect for TNT’s team of analysts and their longstanding commitment to quality sports coverage. After sixteen seasons in the NBA, I look forward to connecting with my fans in this new role and bringing my own perspective to the game I love.”

“Dwyane is a special talent. He’s a transcendent star with a charismatic, engaging and thoughtful personality on and off the court,” said Jeff Zucker, Chairman, WarnerMedia News and Sports. “We’re thrilled to welcome him to the WarnerMedia family and we could not be more excited to partner with him on these special projects.”

Wade recently retired from the NBA, following one of the most storied careers in the history of the game.  In addition to his three NBA Championships, NBA Finals MVP and 13 NBA All-Star appearances, Wade was a two-time All-NBA First Team selection (2009, 2010), won NBA All-Star Game MVP in 2010 and led the league in scoring (2009). His #3 is retired by Marquette, where he was Conference USA Player of the Year in 2003.
