Sing and Dance along with Boomerang Tunes!

Boomerang Tunes popularity makes way for  its second edition…

When Boomerang first launched Boomerang Tunes, a compilation of playful, vibrant and charming songs representing South Africa's rich treasure trove of diversity and cultural influences, nobody could have imagined how popular the songs would be with the audience, locally and across the continent.

Launched in September last year, Boomerang Tunes formed part of the channel's strategy to create more local brand content and collectively garnered no less than 2 million views on YouTube!

Due to this fantastic success, the 2020 edition of Boomerang Tunes is now back with a total of 8 songs sung by five to seven-year-old talent from across Africa in different languages. To kickstart the fun fest of song and dance, Boomerang will celebrate Heritage Day by launching the first four songs in English, Xhosa and Zulu, on the 24th of September in South Africa. Worried your little one might not know the words? Well, each song includes on-screen lyrics making it easier for them to learn and sing along to, all while learning about the rich, diverse heritage of the African continent!

The playlist of sing-along melodies reflects the daily routine in African kids' lives and features new Boomerang Tunes such as Udadewethu (My Sister), Ndikhangela Ubhuti Wami (I'm looking for my brother), Mama She's the Best, and a catchy rendition of Happy Birthday!

"We are thrilled to witness the success of the first edition of Boomerang Tunes and how the audience appreciated and engaged with them. Our intention is to further deepen our connection with our African audience in key markets such as South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya, by continuing to partner with local creators and talent in the delivery of content that is relevant and truly resonates," says Julien Borde, WarnerMedia Head of channels France, Africa and Israel.

The last four songs, delivered in English, Pidgin English and Swahili, will launch between December and January, just in time to give kids something to sing along to in-between watching their favourite Boomerang shows for the festive season!

Look out for the new songs on Boomerang’s YouTube channel, website and on DStv channel 302 on the 24th of September!
